SPOTLIGHT STORY
From Brookdale to a Full Scholarship

Brookdale gave him the platform and the support. Participating with GSE created the path to a full ride.
Tyler Sims, formerly of Manasquan High School, helped establish Brookdale Community College’s esports program from the ground up. As a foundational member of the Overwatch team, he grew with his teammates through leading practices, state and national tournaments, and a culture of consistent improvement.
“Competing in GSE for over 5 years throughout my high school and college career has allowed me to gain experience and a serious leg up on the competition. I would not be where I am now if I didn't compete with GSE.”
— Tyler Sims, on how gse prepared him for the future
Brookdale CC
Helped build Brookdale’s program; ranked top 32 nationally for a two-year college

BEYOND THE SCOREBOARD
More Than a Competition
The Collegiate Conference is more than a season of matches. It is a statewide community where colleges strengthen campus life, collaborate, and create authentic opportunities for students beyond the competitive roster.
Every event brings together educators, industry professionals, community partners, and students to build relationships, share ideas, and create meaningful experiences that extend far beyond the final score.
“Championships matter. But the relationships, skills, and campus culture built along the way are what make this league worth joining.”
Sean Dwyer, Camden County College Esports Director
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Learning Through Competition
Every event creates opportunities for students across campus to contribute as broadcasters, producers, marketers, photographers, tournament administrators, technology specialists, and event staff. Working alongside peers, faculty, and GSE professionals, students gain authentic experience that strengthens résumés, builds portfolios, and prepares them for careers in media, technology, communications, event management, and beyond.
