What is GSE's Collegiate Circuit

Started in the Spring of 2023, the GSE Collegiate Circuit is the nation’s first face-to-face collegiate esports league.

With 93% of GSE’s 12,000+ students aspiring to attend college—over half of them planning to major in STEM fields—GSE is committed to retaining this talent within New Jersey. Our mission goes beyond preparing students for careers in the gaming industry; we aim to connect them with college and career pathways that turn their passion into scholarships and lucrative futures.

Our primary goal is to provide a platform for New Jersey colleges to showcase their esports programs, creating a robust pipeline through GSE to ensure these institutions thrive and students continue to grow. The GSE Collegiate Circuit is designed to bridge the gap between high school and college esports, positioning GSE as the ideal leader for this league. By fostering an environment where talent meets opportunity, we’re dedicated to building a landscape that supports student growth and success, regardless of competitive outcomes.

Through the Collegiate Circuit, we aim to establish a seamless transition from high school to college esports, keeping New Jersey’s brightest talents in-state. This initiative will unite high schools, colleges, and industry partners in a competitive ecosystem, transforming collaboration into tangible opportunities for our students and the state.

Recruitment-First Approach

80% of GSE high schoolers want to stay in-state for college, and 82% consider a college’s esports program or gaming community in their decision-making process. The GSE Collegiate Circuit connects high school students with collegiate esports by hosting matches directly on college campuses, sparking early interest and building connections.

Aligned with GSE scholastic leagues, the Collegiate Circuit enables colleges to host in-person games where high school students can play their GSE matches, tour the campus, and collaborate with college students on event production and casting, before joining the audience to watch the college teams compete. By involving high school students in these on-campus events, colleges can showcase the vibrancy of their gaming communities and the opportunities available, enhancing the appeal of staying in New Jersey for higher education.

Additionally, hosting Circuit events provides collegiate students with hands-on experience in marketing, event planning, production, and more, while fostering their esports community.
